Holy Name Preschool prepares for a new school year

By Diana Coffin, Holy Name Preschool Director

The preschool teachers here at Holy Name Catholic School have been busy this summer. “Under the Sea” and “Beside the Sea” summer camps were held in June and in July. At camp, we celebrated being together again, the love of God and blessings from the sea. Both camps were successful in safely gathering students, preparing our new students for the upcoming school year, and raising funds for the 2020/2021 school year.

August finds us preparing for the 2020/2021 school year with excitement. While some things will be the same, others will be new and different. First of all, the preschool students will be missing the “big kids” as we will be unable to offer kindergarten through 6th grade. COVID safety measures will be in effect. And our class sizes will be intentionally smaller to promote social distancing. Yet, amid the changes, we are planning a magical year full of growth and discovery. Our Ladybug Class (4-5-year-olds) will have 10-12 students and offer both half-day and full-day opportunities, with the option to arrive early. Our Bumblebee class (2 ¾ -3-year-olds), will start the year with ten students with the possibility of adding two more and offers a half-day class with the option of early arrival.
