Icon Exhibit at Alaska State Museum

IMG_9455-4On February 2nd, the solo exhibit ”Windows into Heaven: Contemporary Icons” opened at the Alaska State Museum in Juneau. This exhibit is the fourth in a series of solo exhibits of the work of eight Alaskan artists who were juried and selected in 2016 from among 58 applicants. The exhibit features the artwork of Deacon Charles Rohrbacher, who has painted icons for the last 35 years. In addition to relief prints, drawings and book illustrations, the exhibit includes icons borrowed from churches and individuals around the country, as well as from the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Juneau.IMG_9465-13
