Dedication of the Pieta at the Shrine of St. Therese
On August 7, 2011, Bishop Burns celebrated Mass at the Shrine Chapel. Following Mass, a group of about 50-75 people joined Bishop Burns as he dedicated the Pieta statue at the end of the Good Shepherd Rosary Trail in the Grotto. He was assisted by Deacon Charles Rohrbacher and Altar Server, Nico Glocke.
Following the dedication was a Shrine picnic, sponsored by the Shrine Board and coordinated by Jeanne Jordan. She was assisted by Sam Bertoni and Shrine Board members. It was a beautiful day and there were between 100-150 people who attended the picnic. People brought dishes to share and Irl Palmer, along with Brian Flory, barbequed hamburgers and hot dogs. Several people stayed to help with clean up. (Photo courtesy of Jack Beedle)
